Jacqueline “Jackie” Velez has been the Director of Campaigns at MPHA since January 2026 and is passionate about its multi-issue and multi-prong approach to achieving health equity for communities of color and low-income communities. Prior to joining MPHA, Jackie spent seventeen working in advocacy and organizing issues related to criminal justice and prison reform, labor, housing, environmental and climate justice. She also served as regional director for a US Senate campaign from 2019-2020 for Congressional District One. Jackie brings a wealth of knowledge of building people’s power and is committed to amplifying the voices of historically marginalized and disenfranchised communities.
