Alliance for Community Health Integration

The Alliance for Community Health Integration (ACHI) is a coalition of public health, consumer advocacy, social service, and community organizations working to harness health care to address the social determinants of health and promote health equity.

Current ACHI Priorities:

Maximize the Impact of MassHealth Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs)

MassHealth has made a commitment to address health-related social needs in their ACO program through screenings, referrals, and services. ACHI promotes strong relationships between ACOs and community-based organizations; and promotes data transparency regarding social needs, interventions, and outcomes so that advocates can identify what’s working and what needs to be improved.

Better Align Hospital Investments with Community Needs

ACHI advocates for changes in how hospitals invest in communities, such as through community benefits, so that these investments have a greater impact on social determinants, are more transparent to the community, and are driven by community-identified needs.

Partner with Health Care to Advance Affordable Housing Policy

ACHI partners with hospitals and other health sector leaders to use its combined political clout to advance state legislation that improves access to healthy, affordable housing options for all Massachusetts residents.
