Join us for MPHA’s 22nd Annual Spring Awards Breakfast, the signature event of the year for the public health community on Friday, June 7, 2024, at the Artists for Humanity Epicenter. We are so excited to come together, reconnect with colleagues and allies, celebrate our victories, and acknowledge the heroes making a difference for health equity in Massachusetts.
We are so excited to announce this year’s awardees:
PAUL REVERE AWARD: Douglas M. Brooks, MSW, is a nationally recognized leader in addressing HIV/AIDS having served as Director of the White House Office of National AIDS Policy in the Obama Administration. Throughout his career, Brooks has fought for marginalized communities and against health inequities resulting from inequitable access to the social determinants of health.
LEMUEL SHATTUCK AWARD: Helena DaSilva Hughes is President and CEO of the Immigrant Assistance Center in New Bedford and a champion for equity for marginalized communities on issues including access to health care, housing, and more.
PUBLIC HEALTH LEADERSHIP IN MEDICINE AWARD: Dr. Mark Keroack, President and CEO of Baystate Health, has been a trendsetter in addressing economic, social, and health equity for patients, employees, and community members through collaborations and innovative approaches to public health.
