Title: Public Health Informatics Specialist

Summary of Position
We seek an experienced evaluation professional who is eager to apply their expertise in data analytics, evaluation, quality improvement and performance management to strengthen the future of program design and policy decision making in a challenging and ever evolving team-based environment. New initiatives include the creation of a unified data system for local and regional public health and supporting local and regional health with implementing performance standards as laid out in the Blueprint for Public Health Excellence.
The Office of Local and Regional Health acknowledges the history of structural racism and its impact on health. The Public Health Informatics Specialist will be part of the Office’s vision of implementing strategies that ensure the Office’s work, policies and programs are inclusive and equitable for all.
Our ideal candidate has:
- Strong communication, leadership, project management and time management skills.
- Supervisory experience
- Knowledge of local and regional public health systems including Municipal Boards of Health
- Familiarity with the principles of quality improvement and program evaluation
- Ability to manage databases, construct data files, conduct and support data entry, perform data edits/cleaning, and also analyze and determine the applicability of epidemiologic/demographic data to draw conclusions and make recommendations
