Summary of Position
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) is seeking an enthusiastic, proactive, and dedicated professional to join the Workforce Development Unit within the Office of Local and Regional Health (OLRH). The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, can multi-task, be highly proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, and has experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), adult learning principles and methods, and engaging diverse learners.
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) seeks to hire a Learning and Development Coordinator to assist the Office of Local and Regional Health (OLRH). Reporting to the Workforce Development Credentialing Coordinator, the Learning and Development Coordinator will identify gaps in learning/training courses and materials, create guidelines and processes on how to develop a training course, develop new course materials, oversee the tailoring of the LMS for local public health, coordinate with relevant internal and external partners, and provide expertise to the OLRH staff on learning development. This position is critical in ensuring the in-house capacity for an efficient, relevant, and robust workforce development and training infrastructure to support the OLRH workforce development.
Our ideal candidate is:
- Passionate about and familiar with health and racial equity principles, and the social determinants of health
- Experienced (4+years) in program management/administration, program coordination, program planning and/or program analysis and
- Knowledgeable, with a deep understanding of adult learning principles and practices and instructional design to serve diverse audiences, learners, and communities.
