Title: Performance and Quality Improvement Specialist, Office of Local and Regional Health
Organization: Massachusetts Department of Public Health
We are seeking an experienced program coordinator, who is passionate about quality improvement, performance standards, and organizational efficiencies.
This position supports the Office of Local and Regional Health (OLRH) in its efforts to implement the goals and objectives outlined in the Blueprint for Public Health Excellence (PHE) by the Special Commission on Local and Regional Health. Specifically, this position will work on one of the six recommendations: supporting local and regional health with implementing and achieving performance standards. Using data from capacity assessments and working with a quality improvement lens, this position will consult with the Public Health Informatics epidemiologist and internal and external partners to develop a roadmap to achieving various stages of the performance standards.
The Office of Local and Regional Health acknowledges the history of structural racism and its impact on health. We are committed to improving the quality of life for all Commonwealth residents while eliminating inequities that impact the lives of communities of color who are disproportionately affected by conditions leading to poor health outcomes. The Performance and Quality Improvement Specialist will be part of the Office’s vision of implementing strategies that ensure the Office’s work, policies and programs are inclusive and equitable for all.
Our ideal candidate is:
• passionate about and familiar with the social determinants of health and their measurement;
• at least 3 years of experience in professional, administrative or managerial experience in business administration and
• a deep understanding of how to balance the needs, demands and implementation of macro and microsystems related to public health and quality improvement
