Summary of Position

The Office of Local and Regional Health seeks a passionate program coordinator, who has extensive experience in strategic planning, implementing performance standards, and developing organizational efficiencies.

The Performance Standards Coordinator supports the Office Local and Regional Health (OLRH) in its efforts to implement the goals and objectives outlined in the Blueprint for Public Health Excellence by the Special Commission on Local and Regional Health. Specifically, this position will work on one of the six recommendations: supporting OLRH in advancing through different phases of the local and regional health performance standards.

The Performance Standards Coordinator is responsible for strategizing, creating, planning, and implementing all future phases of the performance standards based on the results of local and regional health capacity assessments. Working closely with the Performance and Quality Improvement Specialist and Assistant Director of Performance Standards, the incumbent will lead the development of the phases and coordinate the cost analysis of implementation of the performance standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

Performance Standards Development

  • Finalize and coordinate the release of the performance standards rollout.
  • Strategize future phases of the performance standards based on the results of the capacity assessments, including development of the phases, and ensuring compliance with performance standards.
  • Collaborate with a vender to determine cost analysis of various phases of the performance standards.
  • Improve planning for system accountability at the local and regional public health (LRPH) level.
  • Collaborate with internal partners by linking this project with other unit initiatives throughout the office.
  • Maintain liaison with various private, local, state, and federal agencies and others in order to exchange information and/or to resolve problems specific to the performance standards.
  • Prioritize, defend, and communicate rationale for all steps and phases of the performance standards.
  • Integrate racial and health equity in all phases of the performance standards.

Capacity and Performance Assessments

  • Support the creation of a data management tool to guide the development and implementation of performance standards data collection phases.
  • Establish assessment criteria that will be used to determine the advancement of the performance standards for local and regional public health.
  • Create, plan, and implement all phases of performance standards through foundational public health services.
  • Support in overseeing vendors for capacity assessments.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to balance the needs, demands, and implementation of macro and microsystems related to public health
  • Experience creating streamlined systems and approaches to improvement projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills coupled with a demonstrated commitment to establishing and maintaining constructive and supportive working relationships with others through effective communication—coupled with the ability to engage, seek out and value the input of diverse partners.
  • Understanding and commitment to diversity, cultural competence, and cultural humility, as well as the social determinants of health-related to health and racial equity.
  • Experience developing and implementing work plans, project/program tracking tools, and supporting systems change.
  • Proficient in working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Commitment to working in a dynamic, diverse, and rapidly evolving work environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Experience in supporting program development and providing technical assistance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading and implementing strategic planning efforts and championing change management.
  • Strong leadership, project management and time management skills.
  • Experience organizing, leading, and balancing multiple long-term, multi-year projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of the local and regional public health system, including the Municipal Boards of Health.
  • Experience in supporting program development and providing technical assistance.
  • Experience developing and implementing workplans, project/program tracking tools, and supporting systems change.

Salary Range: 62,268.18 – 89,143.08 Yearly
