Summary of Job Position

H&HS Consulting is currently seeking entrepreneurial, hardworking, and committed associates to assist
in ongoing public health research, community health needs assessments, grant writing, etc. Candidates
must possess a passion for public health and advocating for health equity. Candidates must:

  • Be proficient with data research using U.S. Census, Center for Disease Control and Prevention, MA Department of Public Health, as well as other public web-based databases
  • Possess excellent critical-thinking skills, as well as strong academic-technical writing skills
  • Be proficient in data analysis and data interpretation
  • Must be able to work well independently, with attention to detail, and highly organized
  • Have experience using Microsoft Office products, Zoom, Google products, Survey Monkey, etc.
  • Be able to work remotely (own or have assess to a computer with Microsoft Office, internet access, and cell phone)
  • Be able to work a minimum of up to 20 hours per week or as needed for 4-6 months

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct web-based research of demographic, public health, and health outcome trends using MA Department of Public Health publicly available databases as well as other governmental websites such as U.S. Census, Center for Disease Control and Prevention, FBI, etc.
  • Tabulate data using excel and/or other data entry software programs
  • Create charts and/or graphs of data sets and provide brief data analysis interpretation
  • Conduct literature reviews of scholarly and public policy articles and provide summary reports
  • Conduct phone or web-based interviews with service providers and community leaders
  • Assist in conducting surveys and interpreting survey results by providing summary reports
  • Assist with focus group coordination and note taking as needed
  • Other administrative tasks and/or duties as assigned by contract manager

Basic Qualifications

  • Preference for candidates possessing a BA/BS in public health or related field of study from an accredited College/University in MA. Candidates with significant research assistantship experience (2 to 3 years) working toward a BA/BS in Public Health, Public Health Administration, or related field, will be considered.
  • Excellent academic writing and critical analysis skills
  • Experience using governmental web-based databases to collect data
  • Experience with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required
  • Candidates working on Master-level courses strongly preferred
