Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts is Now Offering PrEP at all of its Health Centers to Prevent HIV/AIDS

Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts (PPLM), an organizational member of MPHA, is now offering PrEP at all of its health centers across the state to help patients prevent HIV. Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis, more commonly known as PrEP, is a daily regimen for the medicine Truvada, which interferes with HIV’s ability to grow and establish a permanent infection in someone exposed to the virus.
HIV/AIDS education and prevention are core parts PPLM’s work, and this is the next chapter in PPLM’s ongoing work to stop the spread of HIV and meet a more diverse set of sexual and reproductive health care needs. By making PrEP more accessible, PPLM aims to remove barriers to care and serve communities disproportionately impacted by HIV. Please feel free to share this information in your networks.
