Title: Director of Sexual and Domestic Violence Prevention Unit

Brief Summary of Position: The Sexual and Domestic Violence Prevention Unit is located in the Division of Violence and Injury Prevention within the Bureau of Community Health and Prevention (BCHAP). The Director of the Sexual and Domestic Violence Prevention Unit (SDVP) is the DPH content expert on the wide range of sexual assault and domestic violence issues, oversees critical victim services, participates in and provides leadership to policy making bodies addressing sexual and domestic violence, and plays an integral management role within the Division of Violence and Injury Prevention (DVIP).
The Director oversees funding of seven federal and state accounts in excess of $11 million. The Director collaborates with other internal DPH offices and Divisions and serves as the Department’s liaison and representative with the Governor’s Council Addressing Sexual and Domestic Violence and with other Executive Office of Health and Human Services and Executive Office of Public Safety agencies on a wide range of sexual and domestic violence.
- Intra-agency and inter-agency collaboration and coordination at senior levels of policy and program development
- Collaboration with those programs – within the Division and within other state agencies – addressing domestic and sexual violence in order to assure continuity and coordination of services. This work is done largely through a cross agency/cross Secretariat group known as the State Funders of Domestic and Sexual Violence where the Director plays a key leadership role
- Play leadership role on Commissions and Task Forces on domestic violence and sexual assault issues
- At least (A) five years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, supervisory or managerial experience in business administration, business management, or public administration.
