Second Act FRESH Convening Draws Partners from All Over the State

Act Fresh Logo GreenOn December 9th over thirty-five partners came together in Boston for the second Act FRESH Regional Convening.  Partners both old and new came from Fitchburg, Worcester, Lowell, Lawrence, and all parts of Boston to hear updates on current Act FRESH priorities and to learn how they can get involved and take action on areas such as healthy food financing, complete streets, zoning reform, and transportation.

The convening also featured a presentation and discussion around the Healthy Community Champion model, one community based approach to making sustainable change at the neighborhood level. The Healthy Community Champions model is a tool for engaging residents in several Boston neighborhoods, and is part of a larger project called, Let’s Get Healthy Boston, a collaboration between the Boston Alliance for Community Health and the Boston Public Health Commission.  Attendees engaged in a discussion about what works, what doesn’t and what we can do together to advocate for public health in our communities.

Thank you to all who were able to join us at this convening. If you are interested in getting involved in the Act FRESH Coalition please contact Andrea Freeman, or Kristina St. Cyr,
