At FRESH Regional Convening in Fall River

On 10/23/15 MPHA collaborated with long-time ally, Greater Fall River Partners for a Healthier Community (GFRPHC), to co-host a gathering of other Act FRESH coalition leaders from around the state plus local advocates eager to learn more about state policies to advance healthier eating and more active living.

Eric_Julie_SteveThe attendees, including YMCA staff, high school health teachers, Mass in Motion Coordinators and a community benefits manager, learned about and discussed two main areas:

1) the actions and accomplishments  made so far to advance the policy priorities chosen by the Act FRESH coalition a year ago; and

2) GFRPHC’s new approach based on a complex paradigm shift for reducing obesity.

Nineequa_MariaAs the coordinator of Act FRESH, MPHA is always looking to share new ideas and unique perspectives from partner organizations with others around the state. We believe in the value of sharing information and opinions and to offer each other critical analysis to help improve our individual and collective efforts.
