MPHA is proud of its role in the creation of the Prevention and Wellness Trust Fund (PWTF). The PWTF is a milestone for Massachusetts health care reform and the first of its kind in the nation. The PWTF funds evidenced-based community prevention programs that address health disparities and that will prevent costly diseases. PWTF programs treat the whole person by integrating social and health services and focus on four areas of preventable disease: tobacco use, pediatric asthma, hypertension, and falls among older adults.
