Title: Health Policy Advocacy Program Manager

Brief Summary of Position:
The Program Manager will lead and develop the Health Policy Advocacy Initiative within the Center, campus and community. Fundraising, budget management and reporting are key priorities for this external grant funded initiative. There is also a focus to provide practical training, field program supervision and professional advising to MPH and undergraduate students.
We are looking for expertise and a proven track record in Health Policy Advocacy at the local, state, and/or national level. This position also requires a strong interest in working with students to get practical advocacy exposure, experience and mentoring and to develop action-learning placements in advocacy organizations, interest in improving the health of underserved communities and working with community organizations, and a commitment to increasing health policy advocacy efforts to impact systems change.
The candidate needs to possess skills in strategic planning, program management, and leadership to create and sustain a new grant funded program maintaining community and academic collaborations.
Required Qualifications: Master’s Degree or equivalent in public health, public policy or other relevant degree OR minimum 5 years of experience working in the field of health policy advocacy in a community, local, or national setting.
Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with state, local and community based health organizations and leaders in California.
