Brief Summary of Position:
The Administrator manages the work of the Tobacco Evaluation and Review Board, an independent Board whose members are appointed by the Governor and the Legislature for their evaluation expertise or ability to represent key stakeholders in tobacco control in Vermont. He/She will ensure compliance with appropriate statutes, implement decisions of the Board and its Committees, develop strategies, briefs and reports to support the Board, manage the VTERB website, represent the Board at the Legislature and public hearings, and serve as the representative for the Board on councils and workgroups addressing tobacco and substance abuse at statewide meetings. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of public health principles and practices, the Vermont legislative process, program evaluation, peer-reviewed research, excellent mediation and facilitation skills, and experience working with a diverse group of stakeholders to collaboratively address statewide tobacco program policy and budget issues. He/She must also possess excellent writing, minute-taking and organizational skills. A self-motivated individual with a minimum of five years of experience in public health or a related field is preferred.
