Brief Summary Position:
Tower Hill has created the position of Chief Financial and Operating Officer that will be an evolving position over the first few years. The CFOO will work with the Finance Director, Director of Audience Engagement (formerly Director Programs and Guest Services), Director of Horticulture (formerly Director of Horticulture and Facilities) and Director of Advancement (formerly Director of Development and External Affairs) to enhance the sophistication of our financial management including: operating and capital planning, budgeting and reporting, support of HR and IT, provide the business analytics and planning for all earned income including managing our gate, rentals and facilities staff. The CFOO will report to the CEO and be a member of the Senior Management Team. The CEO and CFOO will work together to define the role over time to best meet the needs of the organization with input from staff and Trustees.
The CFOO will be responsible for all financial administration, business planning, and budgeting with the support of the Finance Director. The CFOO will work with the Finance Director to provide all necessary financial reports internally and externally and to document all existing Finance, Administration, and Operating policies and procedures currently managed by that Department.
Advise the CEO and Senior Management Team on operational and strategic decisions based on financial analysis, projections, cost identification and allocation, as well as revenue/expense analysis.
Oversee the multi-year capital and operating budget planning and cost management in support of the Strategic Plan with the goal of creating a more sustainable financial model in 5 years.
Participate in strategic planning and monitoring performance against impact and outcome metrics.
Work with the Director of Advancement to align short and long term financial planning and projections.
Work with the Director of Audience Engagement and the Director of Horticulture to maximize returns on earned revenue and the quality of the guest experience.
Support and engage the Finance, Investment, HR, IT and Audit Committees as needed.
