Mayors and other municipal officials representing 37 communities across the Commonwealth are calling on MassDOT Secretary Rich Davey to begin implementation of the Complete Streets Certification Program passed as part of the Transportation Bond Bill earlier this year. In a letter to Secretary Davey organized by MPHA and our partners in the Act FRESH Campaign, municipal officials from across the state urge MassDOT to implement the program in a timely way in order to improve quality of life, economic development, and public health. The list of signers includes elected and appointed municipal officials from every region of the state: Boston to North Adams, Beverly to Barnstable County, and Brockton to Springfield. The signers hail from urban areas such as Lowell and Worcester, suburban areas including Lexington and Melrose, and rural areas and small towns such as Berlin and Princeton. Read the letter and check out the full list of supporters here.
