MPHA Staff Appointed to Key Advisory Boards on Prevention, Transportation

Two MPHA staff members have recently been appointed to key state advisory boards:

  • Governor Patrick appointed MPHA Executive Director Rebekah Gewirtz to serve on the Prevention and Wellness Advisory Board. This board advises the Department of Public Health on the implementation and evaluation of the $60 million, first-in-the-nation Prevention Trust. • MPHA Director of Policy and Communications Maddie Ribble has accepted an invitation by MassDOT Secretary Rich Davey and Health and Human Services Secretary John Polanowicz to serve on the new Healthy Transportation Compact Advisory Committee.  The committee will advise administration officials on the Healthy Transportation Compact, a key provision of the 2009 transportation reform bill. This bill seeks to balance the needs of all transportation users, expand mobility, improve public health, support a cleaner environment, and create stronger communities.
