This year MPHA is reaching out to you– our members, partners and supporters– to nominate your own public health hero for an MPHA award. Take a minute to review the award categories below and submit your nomination by February 1, 2013.
Nominations will be accepted for the following awards:
The Paul Revere Award is MPHA’s highest honor and is reserved for those who have made an outstanding impact on public health in the Commonwealth. The recipient of this award will have made a significant contribution to the promotion and development of public health at the local level within Massachusetts as well as consistently demonstrates initiative, ability, leadership, and conscientiousness in his or her work in the field.
Lemuel Shattuck Award
Awarded to a person who has made or is making a significant contribution to the field of public health. The choice for this award should be based on actual major contributions to the betterment of public health practice. The recipient should be/have been living and/or working in New England for the greater part of his or her career.
Alfred Frechette Award
Presented to anyone under the age of 40 that has developed an innovative, unique, and original program and shows leadership and promise in the health field in Massachusetts.
Public Health Leadership in Medicine Award
For extraordinary commitment to bringing public health principles and partnerships into the practice of medicine.
For leadership and commitment to integrating public health values into business practice.
